The smallest value of a square is 0. This is the reason for (x-3)^2 =0 in step 3. If x is not equal to 3, we will get a value that is larger then 0, It will no longer be the minimum point (turning point) of the graph.
I created this Blog after my students told me that there is very little information about how to solve GCE O Level Math and Additional Math (A-Math) questions on the internet. Even if they manage to find, the solution were for very basic questions. I am a Full-time Math Tutor in Singapore.
