The steps are always the same for this type of quadratic math problems.

 First find the sum and product of roots, then substitute the sum and

 product into the quadratic equation. Sometimes these type of math 

problems looks confusing especially if the roots are not only alpha and

  beta, but if you follow this general steps you will be on the right track.
