Recommended Additional Math (A-Math)

&Math Assessment Books for Sec 3,4 and 5

Not all Math Assessment books are equal, some are more equal then others. Here are
a few "more equal" assessment books that I recommend.

Recommended Additional Math Assessment Books

  • Mentor -Additional Math -  Shinglee

Questions arrange according to level of difficulty

  • Additional Math Book A and B - Marshall Cavendish

Easy to understand Flow Charts

Recommended Math Assessment Books

  • Mentor -Math Book A and B - Shinglee

Sufficient Work Examples

  • Mathematics tutor 3A and 3B - Casco
* The 4A and 4B Book were last reprinted in 2011. Though I am using these two book as only a few small sections are outdated. I would recommend this book to those who are familiar with the current
syllabus. Hopefully Casco will do a reprint in 2016.

I have used this book for many years
but the last reprint was in 2011

    Why I Recommend these Book?

    1. The questions are arrange according to level of difficulty.
It will not frustrate beginners who just learn a new topic or advance learners who need to revise.

    2. Recently Published - 2015
You do not want to do questions that are not from the latest syllabus, you are wasting your time.

    3. Step-by Step Solution
Besides getting the final answer correct, you are also awarded marks for correct working.
You should counter check against the step-by-step working in the answer booklet.

    4. The answers are correct.
From my experience and feedback from fellow tutors, these books do not have any
incorrect answers unlike some other assessment books.

    5. Sufficient Work Examples.
The examples are useful references if you do not know how to start doing a question or get lost
        along the way.

    About Unknown

I created this Blog after my students told me that there is very little information about how to solve GCE O Level Math and Additional Math (A-Math) questions on the internet. Even if they manage to find, the solution were for very basic questions. I am a Full-time Math Tutor in Singapore. I tutor mainly in Northern Singapore (Woodlands, Chua Chu Kang, Bukit Panjang, Yishun and Sembawang). I also tutor in Johor Bahru.
